This Privacy Policy applies to the Callix mobile app, related backend services, and legal pages hosted at callix.app and callix-a3194.web.app (collectively, the "Service").

1. Controller and contact
Data controller: Callix (the operator of the Service). For privacy requests and legal notices: privacy@callix.app.
2. Data we process
Depending on your settings, platform permissions, and feature usage, we may process:
- Account data: UID, sign-in provider, display name, email, locale/theme preferences, account state.
- Feature and preference data: app settings, onboarding checkpoints, profile preferences, anti-spam setup states.
- Call-intelligence signals: numbers and derived metadata required to deliver caller lookup, spam protection, reporting, and insight features.
- User-submitted safety input: spam/danger/safe reports, labels, disputes, and other moderation-relevant feedback.
- Device and technical data: app version, platform, coarse diagnostics, performance and reliability telemetry.
- Support data: records and communications if you contact us for support or privacy requests.
The Service may use local on-device processing for selected flows and remote processing for cloud-backed features. Data categories and exact fields can evolve as features change.
3. Why we process data and legal basis
- Provide the Service: caller intelligence, spam/risk protection, insights, reporting, and account operations.
- Service quality: improve reliability, detect bugs, and optimize safety/classification pipelines.
- Security and abuse prevention: fraud detection, unauthorized access controls, enforcement of Terms.
- Legal compliance: to comply with law, lawful requests, and defense of legal claims.
Where applicable law requires legal basis (for example GDPR/UK GDPR), we rely on one or more of: contract necessity, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligations.

4. Data sharing and international transfers
We do not sell your personal data as part of ordinary consumer app operations. We may share data with:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure processors.
- Security, analytics, and operational tooling providers.
- Professional advisors and legal authorities when required by law.
- Successor entities in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.
For cross-border processing, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law (for example contractual safeguards such as SCCs where relevant).
5. Data retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy:
- Account and service data: while account is active and reasonably thereafter.
- Security and abuse records: as required for fraud and legal defense.
- Support/legal records: according to statutory limitation periods.
We may delete, aggregate, or irreversibly anonymize data when it is no longer needed.
6. Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, and withdrawal of consent. You can request these via privacy@callix.app.
You may also have a right to complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
We apply technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, encryption in transit, and environment-level security hardening. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe data of a child was processed without valid basis, contact us.
9. Policy changes
We may update this Policy. Material updates may be announced in-app or by other reasonable notice channels. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy to the extent allowed by law.
